Last Day Special

Diana Rush: Hi Everyone! This is our last post, so we wanted to do something special. We're all gonna talk about this blog and our hobbies. So we have really enjoyed doing this blog, and I'm actually kind of sad that it has to end so soon. Now there are a few people who haven't enjoyed it so much, but that's probably because they have a boring topic. Like movie reviews. Or sports. I mean, LAME!!! Everyone knows that nail designs, make-up, and recipes are way cooler than any of that other stuff. It's not even a question. If the picture below makes you happy (and it should) then I know you're sane:

Cosmetics.
This picture is from Yahoo.com

Jimbob: Okay, Okay... That's a bit overboard... I've heard people choke and die on those things... Whatever they are. We all know that EDM was the favorite topic! After all I was the one writing about it! If you don't agree with that then you have to agree that the Justin Bieber post made this blog BLOW UP! Literally...

Avery:
Avery here:)
So I just read another post (AHEM DIANA RUSH) that said sports were lame and I was like, "Hold up.  I'm pretty sure I read that wrong, bro."
But oh no.
SHE SAID SPORTS WERE LAME.
FREAKING OUT HERE.
Number one most important fact in the world.  SPORTS ARE NOT LAME. Or boring for that matter.
I mean I would much rather play one of my favorite sports than read a movie or book review, or do whatever it is you do with make up or even attempt to cook something in the kitchen without blowing up the oven.

Brooke: Doing this blog has been so much fun! But I don't know what you guys are talking about. Obviously crafts and cooking is the best! (And Avery, if your blowing up people's ovens I'm pretty sure you're doing something wrong...) Who wants to sit and read a book or movie review? I can just read the book or watch the movie myself. I think reviews spoil the ending. If you want to listen to a song that just repeats itself over and over for five minutes then Jimbob is right EDM is totally for you. Lets all take a minute to look at this. What is this you ask? Delicious, gooey, wonderfulness. This is a three layer dessert made up of Brownie batter, Oreos, and Cookie Dough. BROWNIES, OREOS, AND COOKIE DOUGH, PEOPLE! So much fun to make and to eat (with ice-cream of course!)

Diana Rush: Nooo...Brooke makes that stuff look way too good. It's better than sports or EDM but cosmetics is where it's at. And where is Franz by the way? He said he was going to join us for this discussion! : /

Diana Rush: Whoa....hold on a second. First of all, what up with the "Amazing Jimbob" thing? Just cause you find some video with two adults who have nothing better to do with their time than throw cake at eachother that makes you amazing? I think not. The guy on the left looks like a girl with a beard. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. Everyone knows that if you can do this (which I can) :

Very pretty makeup for my wedding
This picture is from Yahoo.com

then who are truly amazing. Second, I noticed that before you said that people choke and die on cosmetics. Like, no way! You have to be a complete nincompoop to eat and choke on mascara. So yeah, make-up is better. BUT ANYWAYS, thanks you all for reading our blog! We hope you enjoyed it! :)

THE AWESOME AND AMAZING JIMBOB:
I think any guy who can throw a 20 lb. cake and nail someone from 80 ft. away is pretty awesome! Also, I think people have choked and died from that stuff... I just hope you know what your getting in to :)

Thanks for reading our blog guys! You all are awesome! We have over 1,300 page views and over 9,000 google plus views!!!! AMAZING! Thanks so much everyone!

Saturday, March 7, 2015

Hi everyone this is Diana Rush. Last time I talked about true beauty, and how to obtain it. So this time I was going to do a really fast and easy make-up routine tutorial, but blogger wouldn't upload the video. I was extremely frustrated, to the point of tears. Yeah. I was literally crying over a blog post. But anyways, as I am writing this, my heart is actually thanking God, even though there were tears, because I know that this was a part of His incredible plan. I don't think that God wanted me to write my last post about make-up. I'll tell you why.

God gave me my incredible, beautiful, and just amazing mother to comfort me through all this, yes. But as I was crying because my plan didn't work out, she said that it would all work out and she gave me a suggestion for a new blog post. A better blog post. Last time I talked about how to get true beauty, and today I'm going to talk about truly beautiful things. Below are some pictures of things that are truly beautiful, like this:

I believe that this is utterly beautiful. Like, words-can't-describe beautiful. Life is so precious. And yet, it is ruthlessly destroyed all around us. Euthanasia, abortion, terrorism, whatever it may be, can pretty much be detected back to the lack of the value of life. This picture so eloquently depicts the true beauty of life. Here are two helpless ages, unborn and elderly, who are most often victims of this cruel world. But in this picture (and very often in real life) they cling together. They find hope in each other. It's just beautiful. It's gorgeous. It's God-given.

Here's another thing that I think is beautiful. Now it may not be as heart-wrenching as the last photo, but it has its own beauty. Life is not about sadness. It has very much sadness, but that doesn't mean that life is sadness. Sometimes we need to take a break from focusing on the darkness and just meditate on God's peace. I think that you'll find it amidst the darkness, right in front of you, but you haven't been able to see it because you've been focusing on the circumstances. So ya know, just chill out! :)

Now I know we're all sick of winter. I actually hate winter. Well, most of it. the only thing I don't hate about winter is right after there's a big snow and that gorgeous white powder covers everything. It's kind of like how the beauty of Christ and His sacrifice covers the ugly and grey of our sins, isn't it?

Now you probably think that that's pretty weird that I think this is beautiful. I mean, LOOK AT IT! The reason I think this is beautiful is because it makes me laugh. And it makes me laugh because it describes me perfectly. If I have a paper that is due or am working on anything math related, I look like this guy. Well, the Lord always shows me that He's getting me through the aches and pains of teenagegirlism and that is beautiful.

Awesome Cross Sunset
This picture is from Yahoo.com

No one can deny that this is truly beautiful. It's beauty at its height. The cross. You know, I don't think I will be able to truly describe the beauty of this cross, so here's the lyrics of a song by Brooke Fraser that I believe says it well:

Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out
Bring me to my knees, Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself, I belong to You
Oh, lead me, lead me to the cross

I hope that you enjoyed this post, for it was my last. I pray that you have come to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Believe me, it makes all the difference.

Gatorade: The Lie for Athletes

Everybody knows about Gatorade, the sports drink that makes those awesome water bottles that everyone has in those inspiring commercials.  But most of all everyone knows about the drink that you see everyone drinking, whether they play a sport or not!

Hate to break it to you, but that drink is doing more harm to your body than good.  Next time you go to pick up a Gatorade, flip it over and take a look at the nutrition facts on the back.

1)  Look for the sugar label.  In the label above, this drink contains 14g of sugar.  I don't know about you, but I think that's a lot of sugar to be putting into your body at once, and its not the normal sugar used for putting in your coffee.  This sugar is sucrose syrups.  So think liquefied empty calories, and glucose-fructose, and in other words, very bad for you!  This is also where the supposed energy boost comes from.  By putting lots of sugars into your body you might increase your energy level, but trust me, you'll feel worse after that game once you've crashed.

2)  Artificial flavors are bad!  I know drinking something to be flavored like a fruit might taste better but its basically chemicals added to make the drink flavored.  This can be very harmful to your body.

3)  Citric Acids are also in this drink and studies have shown that these acids are the number one cause of tooth decay.  Yuck.

4)  Toxic dyes!  Trust me, that nice fun color is definitely not natural and for sure not healthy.  There are many different dyes to watch out for but the most common ones found in Gatorade are Yellow 5, Yellow 6 and Red 40 artificial dyes.  The dye Yellow 5 was found to be linked to asthma and is often the cause of it.

So all in all, Gatorade really isn't a healthy sports drink.  It causes more harm to your body than good and consists of chemicals and sugars.  There are many other healthy alternatives to Gatorade, but you should always check out the label before drinking anything claiming to give you an energy boost or re-hydrate you.

I hope you this post helped you out!

EDM PEOPLESS!!

Hey guys! This is it! This is the end. The last post from yours truly. Have you guys enjoyed my posts? Have you enjoyed the blog? I hope you have! Even if you haven't, I have enjoyed writing for you guys! :)

Now enough with the mushy gushy stuff! Let's get right to it. In my last post I talked about DJs and how they are awesome. If you haven't read that post, then please go do that now before you read this. If you don't read it that is fine, but if you do you will better understand what I will be talking about in THIS post.

For this post I am going to be talking about EDM!! The genre of music that embodies a DJ. This genre is what a DJ plays at his gigs and what he probably makes when he produces. Now I could talk about Electronic Dance Music (EDM) for pages and pages but you guys would probably get bored!

In this post I will hit on some of the top DJs in the world and their best songs. Before I do that, please read the list below. It is a list of sub-genres in EDM.

EDM:
- EDM
- Electro
- Progressive
- Progressive Electro
 - Progressive House
- House
 - Deep House
  - Moombahtonm
- Big Room
  - Big Room Progressive
   - Big Room Progressive House
- Club
 - Hardstyle
  - Drum 'n' Bass
   - Disco
- Downtempo
 - Ambient
- Electro House
 - Hardcore
- Experimental
PRETTY MUCH THE LIST GOES ON AND ON ANDONANDONANDONANDONANDON!!!

Since there are so many genres and I don't have enough time to write about all of them, I will pick out my favorites and the ones I consider to be most popular. Once I pick the sub-genres I will pick an artist to go with it. Rank the artist and the song, blah blah blah.

So, let's get started!!
 __________________________________________________________________________________

FIRST SUB-GENRE: BIG ROOM PROGRESSIVE HOUSE!!
Artist: Martin Garrix!!! (Rating: 10000) If you read my last DJ post you will get why I rate him so highly.

Song: Animals
This is an awesome song people! If you don't like repetitive awesomeness then skip ahead about a minute. That is usually how long the intro lasts. Big Room usually means that there will be some anthem style synths in the song. Something that will make you want to raise your hands!! Progressive just means that the song progresses gradually. Feel free to dance during this song. :)

SECOND SUB-GENRE: DEEP HOUSE!! (I am choosing deep house specifically instead of house. House is VERY repetitive and you probably wouldn't like it.)
Artist: Hardwell!!!!! (Rating: 100000000000) Hardwell has got to be my favorite DJ ever. He is 2-time number one DJ in the world as of last year. This years award will either go to Martin Garrix or Hardwell again.

Song: Okay... I just want you guys to realize that Hardwell is not known for Deep House. He is known for commercial EDM pretty much. When he released his first artist Album in January he added several songs that went away from the norm. I loved what he did with the deep house track he put in his album. I'm happy that he made songs that HE liked not just what his FANS liked.

This is called: Where Is Here Now (feat. Funkerman and I/Fan)

THIRD SUB-GENRE: HARDSTYLE!!
Artist: R3hab (Rating: 999) I recently started listening to this DJ and he is really good!!!
Song: This DJ does a lot of clubby, hard, bang your head sort of tracks. Hope you enjoy their track -
 Karate!

FOURTH SUB-GENRE: EXPERIMENTAL!!
Artist: Hardwell (Rating: 10000000000) He is just so awesome I'm using him twice! :)
Song: Echoes (feat. Johnathan Mendelsohn) This is another unexpected track that Hardwell put on his album. Experimental usually means that it sounds a little sci-fi or just plain different. The drop may not consist of a solid beat but just a bunch of random synths.
Enjoy! This song also shows that EDM isn't just a bunch of repetitive annoying sounds but that it can also sound almost angelic! Haha :P

That raps everything up for my overview of EDM!! Pretty much all the other sub-genres branch off from these few that I have picked. However, I DID leave out some significant sub-genres such as D'N'B, trap, and ambient.

Please go look up more EDM songs if you enjoy these ones!! I will tell you now though, you should be careful when you are looking up some EDM tracks. Keep in mind this is a secular genre of music. I'm sure you all are old enough to know that though :)

GOODBYE!  I hope all my posts were informative and funny. I hope you enjoyed our blog. We still have a week left but this is the last post from me, Jimbob. Peace out world!

Looking for a New Old Show?

My greatest apologies to all of you out on the internet looking for reviews of the newest TV shows and movies (as if there aren't already a thousand others you can't go and read) but I cannot supply you with that. I do not have cable service, and I rarely go to the movies. In fact, I have only been to the theatre 4 times in my entire life. Three of those are because they are a trilogy that I REALLY enjoy (see if you can guess ;) and the fourth was because I had one night and not many options, so me and my brother went to see The Winter Soldier. All of that being said, I cannot bring you reviews of the most recent and most trending, because I have not seen them. I suppose I could still review them... un-honestly... hehe. ANYways, I thought that since I can't give you a review of the most recent, I'd review a show that has passed its time that you may not have seen. People seem to always be looking for a show to binge watch on Netflix.  So have you have ever heard of Numb3rs? And yes this has something to do with math, but don't all of you who hate math just dismiss the show and click away. I know people who are by no means math fans who really enjoy the show, so keep on reading and decide if the show is for you!

Totally Delicious Blueberry Dump Cake

Hi everyone! For Tuesday Treats today I am going to show you how to make a blueberry dump cake! This recipe is originally from, Scattered Thoughts From A Crafty Mom. Now you may be sitting there thinking, "A dump cake? What in the world is a dump cake?" Well let me introduce you to the world of dump cakes! A dump cake is one of the easiest desserts you can possibly make.  Here's what you do: you get your ingredients together (usually there's not many), "dump" them into a pan, and bake! That's where the name comes from. Super easy and super yummy. I'll bet you have all the ingredients right in your kitchen. One of the beauties of a dump cake is that if you don't have one ingredient, let's say blueberries, you can use something else like cherries. Dump cakes usually call for a type of pie filling and frozen or fresh fruit as well. I'm sitting here right now smelling the wonderful aroma of this dump cake filling my house. I can't wait to share the recipe with all of you! So let's get started!!

Here's what you'll need;

- 1 box of yellow cake mix (I didn't have yellow on hand so I had to use lemon. Either will taste great.)
- 1 21oz. can of blueberry pie filling
- 1 large can of crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1 stick of salted butter

Directions;

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2: Spread the can of blueberry pie filling at the bottom of a 9x13 cake pan. (you can use one that's a similar size, but no bigger)

Step 3: Spread crushed pineapple over pie filling. Make sure you drain it first! Sprinkle the coconut and 3/4 of the blueberries on top. (Note, you don't have to use all of the coconut, just make sure you use enough that you have a medium sized coverage over the pan.)

Step 4: Evenly sprinkle the cake mix over the top of the fruit.

Step 5: Melt 3/4 of the stick of butter in the microwave for 40 seconds. (Make sure it's melted all the way. If not put it back in for a little bit longer.) Drizzle it as evenly as you can over the cake mix.

Step 6: Thinly slice the rest of the stick of butter and place the pieces over any dry cake mix still showing.

Step 7: Sprinkle the rest of the blueberries on the top of the cake mix.

Step 8: Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Step 9: Serve with ice cream and Enjoy!!

Ta-da! You just made a dump cake! I hope you had fun making it, and even more fun eating it. Haha. How did yours turn out? Did you make it with lemon cake mix or yellow? Any questions or comments? We'd love to know! Thanks for joining me today and be sure to check out all the other awesome blog posts while your here at P.S.. This Is For You!

Hi everyone!  Today I will give some history on soccer and I will go through some pieces of the game.

Soccer is the most popular sport with 3.3-3.5 billion fans worldwide.  In Africa in the poorer places some children grow up with nothing but a soccer ball to play with.  Everyday after school these kids will go out and play  soccer.  In England soccer is also very popular.  England is the country that hosts the British premier league which we even watch hear in America.  You could literally go anywhere and find someone to play soccer with, all over the world.  It is like a language that is spoken wherever you go.

One of the reasons that people say that they dislike watching soccer is because of all of the flopping that happens.  Yes, there are the guys that flop but in basketball they flop as much if not more yet these sports fans continue to watch basketball.

Here are some of the worst flops of soccer and basketball for the enjoyment of you guys.

I have always loved soccer because it is one of the only games where you use your feet for almost everything.  Most people use their hand quite well but in soccer it is completely different.  You must attempt to control a ball with your feet head or whatever you can without using your hands.

The other complaints people make for not watching soccer is that no one scores.  Now usually there aren't that many goals in a game but I think that that is the fun of it.  Two teams work against each other to keep control of the ball and work it up the field and have a shot on goal.  the fact that they don't score all that often makes the goals that much more spectacular. To prove my point watch the video below.

For you soccer fans out there thank you for reading and for you non soccer fans I hope this gave you some good insight into why soccer is loved around the world.

True Beauty

Hi everyone this is Diana Rush. I know I like to talk about nail designs, and sometimes even recipes on Tuesday. But today I'm going to talk about something different. I 'm going to talk about beauty. Now some of you smart alecs are probably saying, "Like, wow, what do you call a nail design? Ugly?" That's not what I mean. I am going to tell you about true beauty, and how to have it. For one,

You have to have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
Let me just tell you something, and let me be frank. You cannot have true beauty if you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. After all, He is the one who makes you beautiful. And not just the "typical pretty." He can give you beauty that is so utterly gorgeous, it is simply impossible to obtain from any man or man made product. Now I'm not saying I'm beautiful, or even pretty. But Christ has given me this true beauty that is available to literally anyone, anywhere, any time. And also you don't have to be a girl, just so you know. You see, Christ gave me this beauty when He came into my life to be my Savior, Redeemer, Healer, and Friend. He came down to this wretched earth because He loves me, and you, so much that He died the worst death imaginable, the death on a cross, so that I, and you, didn't have to suffer the ugly consequences. And all you have to do is repent of your sins, and believe that Christ rose from the dead three days after He died.

Isn't it amazing that such a powerful God, the creator of the universe in fact, would go through such pain for us so that we don't have to? This is the start of true beauty! So are you ready for step two? Here we go!

Don't call yourself ugly.
Don't even think about. Don't you dare. Other people may call you ugly, but don't believe them. Once you have accepted Christ as your Savior (hooray!) calling yourself, or anyone else, names is not going to help you with true beauty. Ever. So the next time someone, including yourself, calls you ugly, or not good enough, or worthless, you just tell them (or yourself), "No I am not. Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life and you have no right to tell me what or who I am." That may sound harsh, but it's true! Just look at 1 Timothy 6: 20-21

Okay, so now you have the only awesome Creator as your Savior, and you know that you should stay away from that foolish, babbling talk that you are ugly or whatever (remember that Paul told Timothy to avoid the babblings of what is called knowledge. That includes false doctrines, and it can also apply to INSULTS!) Are you ready for the third thing?

No one is perfect.
Yeah. You know those models and movie stars? They're fake. No one is that perfect. Actually they use a computer to "fix" the model or movie star. They change skin tone, erase pimples and other blemishes, and they even raise cheek bones! So yeah. Most of the movie stars or models that you see in pictures or movies look completely different in real life. They actually look normal! Imagine that! : )

So are you getting a pattern here? Here's the next and last thing I'm going to bring up:

Just be happy with you.
That's right. You're you. You're unique. I'll bet my boots that there is no one else on this earth that looks exactly like youI mean, unless you have an identical twin. But that's not really fair. Well anyways, you need to just not be afraid of whatever people think of you. I mean, we all have our little dinks. Mine, I have a waaaaay obnoxious laugh. Seriously, when I find that something is funny, really funny, you can hear me a mile away. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" No kidding! And I actually had someone tell me once, "Wow...for such a little girl you have such an obnoxious laugh." I was shocked and quite honestly speechless, but did that stop me from laughing my heart out when I think something is funny? NO!!! I still embarass myself silly laughing so loud. But I like to laugh, and no one can insult me out of that. So there.

I hope you have found this article helpful and comforting. It helped me a lot too, just writing it. So I mentioned a pattern earlier. Do you know it? The pattern is this: don't be afraid to be different.  Being a Christian is different. Not insulting others or yourself is different. Knowing and admitting th at NO ONE is perfect... is different. And being happy with yourself is different. Now don't get me wrong, you should constantly be wanting to change and grow on a spiritual level, but physically speaking, just be happy!

Thank you all for listening! Happy beauty...true beauty! Praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for He is greatly to be praised!

American Sniper

Chris Kyle: a man with an extraordinary talent who considered himself just an ordinary man.

Chris Kyle, a Navy seal known for his amazing marksmanship, earned the title of America’s number one sniper. Kyle believed he owed his survival during the four tours in Iraq and the surrounding areas, to a relationship with God, who saved his life on many occasions. He frequently stated that he had a guardian angel and a little bit of luck protecting him from all the weapons with which he had been shot, the explosions by which he had been hit, and the objects that had fallen on him during his time in Iraq.

Like every human, Chris Kyle had his struggles. He was addicted to alcohol, cussed constantly, and had trouble with his wife Taya.  He picked up his alcohol addiction during his seal years when, after many missions, the team would go out drinking and get in fights. Kyle’s marriage was strained by the four tours he spent in Iraq. After having kids, Kyle’s wife begged him not to re-enlist. After the end of his deployment, he moved his family to Texas to be closer to his parents, and to help a friend who cared for disabled veterans.

Since the book was written before Kyle died, it does not specify how he was killed. According to the website www.Nyt.com, Chris Kyle, Chad Littlefield, and Eddie Roth went to a shooting range to practice their skills. After Chris and Chad both fired all their ammo at the targets, it is recorded that Eddie brought out his gun and shot Chris seven times and Chad five times. He then took he gun, fled the shooting range without telling anyone, and went and bought two tacos. The fact that he waited till Kyle and Littlefield had shot all of their ammo shows that he did not have any mental problems, but he was fine and wanted to kill the men. Multiple investigations are and were launched into the death of a father, American hero, and Christian.

I really enjoyed this book for the most part. My favorite part was the way he made the past event look and feel current. What I did not like is that he cussed constantly in the book, but I guess that happens a lot in war. I would definitely recommend this book to every one of my friends who enjoys war books. This book makes me want to watch the movie and learn more about war stories and the sacrifices brave men and women have made for our country. I definitely think everyone should read the book. It’s an amazing account of a strong Christian, with a passion to serve his country, who lived up to the American saying, “Land of the free and home of the brave.”

Article by Fernando.
"Will you have peace or War?"
"We will have war..."

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Lake Town is burning. The dragon Smaug is destroying the town and its people. They are trying to get away on boats, but they won't get far. A man stands alone in the rubble as his country man flee. His bow and his arrows are strung around his shoulder. He shoots and hits, but no normal arrow will pierce the hide of a dragon, and there is only one thing that will. A black arrow. His son is running toward him with the only one right now...

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is the last of a trilogy that has captivated audiences for three years. The Hobbit was a prequel to The Lord of the Rings. After the great success of those movies, Director Peter Jackson thought it was time for another Lord of the Rings trilogy. He split the book, The Hobbit into three parts, An  Unexpected  Journey, The Desolation of Smaug, and The Battle of the Five Armies. Was this movie an epic classic that finished the Lord of the Rings off with a bang, or just a dull battle?

Acting

The acting in this movie was good at the least. Martin Freeman, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, and Richard Armitage. Martin Freeman did an especially good job bringing out the character of Bilbo Baggins. Richard Armitage also did a great job of showing us the inner battle he was having with himself. These characters really showed there emotion well in the most emotional of all six Lord of the Rings movies.

Music

The Lord of the Rings have been known to have very unique soundtracks. This one is no exception. The whole album is very good and it goes very well with the story line. This is an album that also sounds good by itself and can be listened to for its calming and dramatic music. Its credit song was made by Billy Boyd, a star from the Lord of the Rings movies. He came up with a depressing song that goes perfectly with the last movie.

Special Effects

The special effects in this movie are awesome! The town burning, the dragon, the war. They are so real you feel you're right there (especially if you watch it in 3D.) It's hard to even describe how good the special effects were. I think this movie has the best special effects of any movie I have watched! (And that's saying a lot!)

Conclusion

The main thing people didn't like about the Battle of the Five Armies was that it just felt like one giant battle. I think a lot of people felt (Spoiler Alert) that the dragon Smaug died a little to quickly. I can see their point because both movies led up to Smaug being destroyed. But he died about fifteen minutes into the movie. However, this movie was not about Smaug. It was about all of Middle Earth fighting to the death for what they believed in. Characters courageously  fight again all odds, save each other, and die for one another. This was also the coolest battle ever! It has fights on mountains, in land, in ruins, on frozen ponds. They even fight the greatest evil in Middle Earth, Sauron. It really is a battle for everything. The Battle of the Five Armies: elves, men, dwarves, wargs, and orcs.

Hello Everyone!

For today's tasty treat I want to give you some recipes to try at home.  There are three fairly healthy smoothie recipes that don't taste healthy at all. #Surprise being healthy can sometimes taste good.  Anyway I will put the recipes in below so that you can try them at home with your blender.

Chocolate Mint Smoothie

2 cups milk (almond, soy, or just plain old dairy)
2 cups sliced frozen bananas
2 tablespoons cacao nibs
2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla bean scraped
or
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

This mint chocolate recipe you basically throw it all in a blender and blend until it holds the texture of a smoothie.  It is one of the favorites at my house and is #delicious (recipe found on pp. 58, Going Raw by Judita Wignall)

Chocolate Cherry (homemade recipe)

1 cup milk (any kind)
1 frozen banana
(optional) 2 stalks kale (rib removed)
1/2 cup frozen cherries
1-2 tablespoons cacao nibs
1/2-1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup raw cashews

This recipe is also very good and is very easy to make. Throw it all in and blend away!

For those of you who don't like chocolate as much then I have one more recipe for you.

Chai Green

1 cup milk (any kind)
1 banana cut into chunks
1 cup chopped greens of choice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/8 teaspoon ground coriander
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
5-6 drops stevia or 1 tablespoon of honey
6 ice cubes (or six cubes of frozen chai green tea)

We love this recipe at home and we can't get enough of it.  It has a very nice taste to it and it tastes like chai. (recipe from pp. 186, The Big Book of Juices and Green Smoothies by Cherie Calbom)

Tazo Passion Honey Tea

Hello Fellow Humans! So, I am guessing many of you like Starbucks.  Probably most of you.  So I have for you a knock-off recipe (not for coffee though in case your hopes were high for coffee... of course you probably already know what the drink is since it's in the title...), as well as a confession. I have not actually tried Starbuck's version of this drink, it is a recipe I found though, that's supposed to taste like a Starbuck's drink that we have have modified just a smudge. And I also know people who have tried both and say they like this recipe better! This is one of my favorite drinks ever,  it is so cool and refreshing; definitely a great summer drink. So her ya go! Tazo Passion Honey Tea.

DJ'S ARE THE REAL DEAL PEOPLE!!!!!!

What's up everyone? This is Jimbob once again. I was supposed to post on Thursday but I came down with a nasty case of the flu. Fun stuff... Anyway this is cool for you cause this means you get a little bit of awesomeness from me to kick-off your week! So let's get right to it then!

This week I thought I would address a major problem in our community...
TOASTER STRUDELS!!
#toasterstrudle
But my parents kinda rejected that idea so here I am talking about...
DJ'S!!!!!

Right now your thinking,"What the heck Jimbob! I don't want to read about some losers who live in their mother's basements and try to convince their "friends" that playing a DJ set for a 7 year old's b-day party is cool!"  #7yearoldbdayparty

Well let me tell you... THAT IS NOT WHAT A DJ IS!!! That is a huge stereotype and although in some cases it CAN be true, it is NOT true for almost all DJ's.

IN THIS POST I WILL TEACH YOU THE WAYS OF A DJ!!!

I myself want to be a music producer/DJ when I am older. A DJ nowaday's isn't only a person who plays songs at a club but also someone who produces the music you hear in most famous pop songs on the radio. In the EDM explosion of 2013 people started recognizing that their favorite singers were only SINGING for some awesome and really catchy electronic songs and wanted more of the DJ's. Don't get me wrong though, DJing and dance music production was popular before and DJ's had HUGE fan bases. It was just that in 2013, EDM (Electronic Dance Music) producers were recognized by the public peoples who had not heard of such a thing before. Now, half of our culture enjoys instrumental dance songs with nasty drops and awesome anthem chords, but there is still the other half. Who is the "other half"???

The other half are the people who think what you thought at the beginning of this post. You immediately thought of that lousy kid you knew in highschool. That kid who dropped out. Well... you are wrong. Some of those kids who #droppedout are making a good $20 mil. every... single... year... And I say "kids" because that is what they are. The average DJ realized what they wanted to do the rest of their lives by age 14 or 15. Martin Garrix, for example (also one of my personal favorite artists), started being a DJ at age EIGHT!! He saw a very famous DJ named Tiesto perform at the 2004 Athens, Greece Olympic Games. After that he looked at his parents and said "I want to DJ". Since then he has made hit after hit. What really got him on the grand stages of every famous EDM festival out there, was a song named "Animals". This is a very simple song, but it is also very catchy. He made the song in his room like most other DJ's. Little did he know that this song would give him his dream job. At age 16 he was making $17 mil. a year and now he is making over $20 mil. a year. LET'S GET THIS CLEAR!! HE IS NOT A ONE HIT WONDER!! Martin Garrix will go down as one of the greats in EDM history. He has made so many great songs. In my opinion, "Animals" is not his best song. Go look him up and listen to his music. I think you will enjoy it! #MARTINGARRIXPEOPLESSSS

Enough about him though, WHAT DO DJ'S REALLY DO?

Well, I have explained that they don't only perform but they also create music. I can't really tell you how hard it is to make a great song like them without going into a bunch of nerdy music terms and technical #thingymuhbobbers. SO, just take my word for it. The songs they create aren't repetitive and cheesy tracks, but are beautiful masterpieces. Even the most repetitive dance songs are awesome if you listen to all the detail in the effects of the instruments and the layout of the song. I like to compare dance music to wine. Wine snobs will tell you that you have to savor your drink and taste all the many layers of wine in order to get the full effect. I will tell you the same thing about EDM.

Next question, WHAT ARE DJ'S REALLY DOING UP ON STAGE?

Well now... that is a great question... Do DJ's just jump up and down? Put their hands in the air like they just don't care? Drop the bass? THEY DO ALL OF THESE THINGS!! AND A LOT MORE!!
I want to get this straight first...
EVEN IF DJ's just jumped up and down and entertained the crowd... it would still be a really tough job. Try performing for 80,000 people. Try keeping their attention for two hours. Maybe more... You can't sing like any of your favorite artists. You just stand their with a mic. With the music playing in the background. A select few of you MIGHT be good at it. But probably not. You have to time what you say with the music. You can't say too much or people will get annoyed. You can't say too little or people will get bored. You can't talk during the best parts in the song or people will get mad. Your performing to #PLEASETHEPEOPLE! That makes DJing sound horrible but it's not. DJ's get to do what they love! They love entertaining people! Just like any other musician. Except with this, it is a lot more precise. Singers just have to sing words from their songs and dance and give heartfelt talks in between a few tracks. That is great! But DJing is A LOT harder.

I have told you how hard it is to please the crowd. But that is not all a DJ does. A DJ has to make songs flow together! If you can't even talk to the crowd you at least have to be able to do that in order to be a DJ. It may sound easy but it is not! A DJ has to take songs in different keys, different tempos, and different sub-genres and moods and mashes them together. It is hard stuff! But DJ's love it. Every time I can make a song flow into another song as if they were one I get the best feeling of accomplishment. Every time I take one old-school song from Journey or another band and then morph a drop into it, I get so excited!

Also, DJ's are cool for one other reason (that has to do with performance at least). DJ's NEVER play the same set twice in a row. When a DJ is traveling to the next gig he is usually editing his and other peoples songs. Not only that but he MAKES completely new tracks on the road! ALSO, a DJ will usually play 2 or 3 songs at the beginning of a set. Each one from a different sub-genre of EDM. For example, one song that is an melodic anthem, another song that has a hard drop, and maybe another that is not so dancing but just is an experimental track. Then depending on which song the crowd liked the most he will morph the rest of the songs he plays! It requires a good sense for the crowd, and good sense for the music, and some good natural reflexes to pull this off.

#Inconclusion, DJing isn't about performing at a 7 year old's b-day party (unless you have to :P) and it isn't about bobbing your head up and down on stage while just pressing the play button. It's about doing what you love and sharing it with others. I think ANY musician would say that the most rewarding part of creating music is not the money or fame but touching people's lives with their music. DJ's are the same. They aren't fakes or frauds but musicians doing what they love. I hope to be a DJ one day no matter what people think of me! I won't care... Because I'll be doing what I love while sharing it with others.

Hi Everyone this is Diana Rush. So this week I was thinking about what I should do for my post and I thought of so many things I could do, but nothing was sticking out. I could show ya'll how do do a waterfall braid, or a sock bun, or a fancy prom up-do. But then I though of this fun idea: ideas! I'm gonna give you all some fun seasonal nail ideas for just about every season! #Seasonalnails !!!

Tired of the winter? Let's talk about a summer holiday...The Fourth of July!!! What's more patriotic for the Fourth of July, or Independence Day, than American Flag nails? #Awesome!

But what about a nice winter holiday? Yup...My favorite, Christmas! Try these fun designs to WOW your relatives. #IloveChristmas!

Aren't those cool? Also, if you want to "dress for the occasion" but it's after Christmas, you can try these totally fun penguins.

I know those aren't technically "wintery," but penguins like winter weather...plus they're adorable! #adorable

So we've covered a summer occasion and a winter occasion. But what about a fall occasion? The start of school perhaps? Now before you roll your eyes, give me a chance. There are some really neat "beginning of the year" nail designs that you might like to see... #Youmustseethese

                                         Extreme Sports

Everybody knows those crazy adrenaline rush people who participate in those equally crazy sports.  These sports are often called Extreme Sports and I'm here to offer insight on these sports and how, as crazy as they might sound, some are actually pretty fun.
#Extremesports!

1.  Base Jumping
Base Jumping is a very extreme sport that requires you to jump off of a building or an object with a high height. Base jumpers wear parachutes and (hopefully before they hit the ground and become a smashed human) they unfurl the parachute to slow their fall and land SAFELY on the ground.
#Peopleareinsane

2.   Sand boarding

Think snow boarding but replace the snow and mountains with a giant sand dune!  I've heard sand boarding is much harder and hurts a whole lot more when you take a nosedive into the sand.  #Sandboarding

3. Skate Boarding
This type of skate boarding isn't the regular "after school activity" done by teenagers.  This the all out competitive and pretty
dangerous version. #Skateboardingtrick

.

 4.  Rock Climbing
Scaling a huge rock face, hundred of feet up in the air. And that's with or with any ropes to catch you if you fall.  People love it and would gladly do it every day if they could- including my family!
#Trynottofall

5. Paintball
Believe it or not this is considered as an extreme sport, and if you've ever played with certain competitive people, then you'll understand why.  Paintball is an awesome experience and tons of fun.  #Keepcalmandpaintball

6.  Parkour and Free running
Last but certainly not least- this is my favorite extreme sport- amazing to watch and even more fun to do!
Parkour is usually set over and obstacle course and set to get from point A to point B.  Free running is also set over an obstacle course but is more about pulling tricks and doing flips and such to get to the set point.  #Nolimits

Those were only six of the many extreme sports out there!  I hope you enjoyed this post!!

Thanks all for reading,

- Avery
