Totally Delicious Blueberry Dump Cake

Hi everyone! For Tuesday Treats today I am going to show you how to make a blueberry dump cake! This recipe is originally from, Scattered Thoughts From A Crafty Mom. Now you may be sitting there thinking, "A dump cake? What in the world is a dump cake?" Well let me introduce you to the world of dump cakes! A dump cake is one of the easiest desserts you can possibly make.  Here's what you do: you get your ingredients together (usually there's not many), "dump" them into a pan, and bake! That's where the name comes from. Super easy and super yummy. I'll bet you have all the ingredients right in your kitchen. One of the beauties of a dump cake is that if you don't have one ingredient, let's say blueberries, you can use something else like cherries. Dump cakes usually call for a type of pie filling and frozen or fresh fruit as well. I'm sitting here right now smelling the wonderful aroma of this dump cake filling my house. I can't wait to share the recipe with all of you! So let's get started!!

Here's what you'll need;

- 1 box of yellow cake mix (I didn't have yellow on hand so I had to use lemon. Either will taste great.)
- 1 21oz. can of blueberry pie filling
- 1 large can of crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1 stick of salted butter

Directions;

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2: Spread the can of blueberry pie filling at the bottom of a 9x13 cake pan. (you can use one that's a similar size, but no bigger)

Step 3: Spread crushed pineapple over pie filling. Make sure you drain it first! Sprinkle the coconut and 3/4 of the blueberries on top. (Note, you don't have to use all of the coconut, just make sure you use enough that you have a medium sized coverage over the pan.)

Step 4: Evenly sprinkle the cake mix over the top of the fruit.

Step 5: Melt 3/4 of the stick of butter in the microwave for 40 seconds. (Make sure it's melted all the way. If not put it back in for a little bit longer.) Drizzle it as evenly as you can over the cake mix.

Step 6: Thinly slice the rest of the stick of butter and place the pieces over any dry cake mix still showing.

Step 7: Sprinkle the rest of the blueberries on the top of the cake mix.

Step 8: Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Step 9: Serve with ice cream and Enjoy!!

Ta-da! You just made a dump cake! I hope you had fun making it, and even more fun eating it. Haha. How did yours turn out? Did you make it with lemon cake mix or yellow? Any questions or comments? We'd love to know! Thanks for joining me today and be sure to check out all the other awesome blog posts while your here at P.S.. This Is For You!
